Our goal is to give children the opportunity to explore and express themselves freely through play.

A space for healthy childhood experiences

Free play and movement are essential building blocks for children's physical and mental development. They help build motor skills, strengthen self-confidence, and inspire creative problem-solving. However, many children rarely have the chance to explore freely and shape their world according to their own ideas.

At KOOJA, we want to change that: our goal is to give children the opportunity to discover and develop through play, without constraints or predefined ways of thinking. Anything they can imagine is possible — because true creativity knows no limits.

This is the change we aim to bring with KOOJA right from the start.

Let's go

The Idea

Jacques and Mark, the founders of KOOJA, experienced a profound change in their lives when their own children were born. With this new perspective came a desire to offer their children something unique — something without strict boundaries that would inspire their imaginations, much like life itself, full of endless possibilities. They envisioned a toy that would not only be a companion for children but would also adapt to their evolving needs and ideas, eliminating the need to constantly buy something new.

The vision was clear: KOOJA should be more than just a toy — it should be an experience for the whole family. It would create a sense of calm and comfort for shared moments while offering space for adventure, exploration, and discovery. It's a play concept with no prescribed way to play, giving children complete freedom to reshape and rediscover their world in playful ways. Each element is thoughtfully designed to be safe and to grow with them — just as Jacques and Mark would wish for their own children.

"We wanted to create something that gives our children the freedom to develop themselves without judgment or labels — where not every picture is judged or questioned about what it is supposed to be. A play concept that inspires without restrictions and simply lets children be children — free from rigid values and outdated norms."

Sustainability at KOOJA

KOOJA is part of the Zeitgeist Group, which means we share the commitment to sustainability in everything we do. We truly believe in it. And because fairness and responsibility are now essential for everyone. We stand for diversity, personal growth, and the joy of living in a colorful world. We also want to help create a better world, one that is livable for future generations. KOOJA is the next step in making this vision a reality.

SUSTAINABILITY - EMBEDDED IN THE DESIGN

From the very first phase of product development, we set clear requirements. The materials had to meet the highest quality and safety standards, such TÜV GS, and be free from harmful chemicals. To ensure durability, it was quickly clear: KOOJA must not only be sturdy and easy to care for, but also offer some level of modularity and flexibility. This way, it can provide fun for many years and adapt to changing needs.

STRONG PARTNERSHIPS

When selecting our production partners, we had high standards. As a member of Amfori, it is essential for us that all our suppliers commit to the BSCI standard. This standard is based on the United Nations' sustainability goals and sets the requirements for social, ethical, and environmentally responsible conditions.

We also collaborate with ClimatePartner. Together, we calculate our carbon footprints every year and analyze where we can improve and how we can reduce emissions. The emissions we cannot yet avoid are compensated by investing in certified climate protection projects.

FAIRNESS TOWARDS ALL PARTNERS

Maybe you've noticed something: you never see the faces of the children in our pictures. This was a conscious decision. Even though all our models loved participating in our shoots and brought great energy to the set, we want to protect the children's rights to privacy and individuality.

The safety and privacy of children are our top priorities. Since children cannot yet decide how they are perceived online, we intentionally refrain from using their faces in our marketing materials. Instead, we focus on detail shots of hands, feet, hair, as well as back views and silhouettes, capturing the curiosity and emotions of children without violating their privacy.
